What do French people call their grandpa?
Grand-pére is French for grandfather (and what I called my own paternal grandpa). Just like we have grandfather and grandpa in English, this is one of the more informal versions in French. Opa and oma originated in Germany, but they're cute enough to use just about anywhere.
Memere & Pepere
These are very popular French Cajun nicknames for grandma and grandpa !
Mémère and Pépère: French and can also be shortened to mémé and pépé for a more informal title.
Children in France may call their grandmothers Gra-mere, Mémé, and Mamé. Quebec: Mémé and Mamie are most often used by French Canadians.
They might sound like affectionate alternatives to 'mum and dad', but mamie et papi is actually French for 'grandma and grandpa'. Mamie is a colloquial version of grand-mère (grandmother) and papi of grand-père (grandfather). (Papi can also be spelled papy too.)

-Creole: The Haitian Creole name for grandfather is “Gran-papa.”
Papaw is the most commonly used name for Grandpa in Alabama, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. As for the slightly less Southern alternative to Papaw (Pawpaw), it's most popular in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Another popular subset of unique names are those that are derived from the (most often) grandmother's first name. So Gabby McCree is Gigi. “It's an abbreviation for 'Grandma Gabby' and also my initials growing up,” she says. (Her husband, Don, went with Pop Pop.)

While maimeó anddaideó are the words used to address a grandmother or grandfather, there are a few different words for grandparents in Irish. For example, there are máthair chríona, which translates to “wise mother,” and athair críonna which translates to “wise father.”
The word nana means 'young girl', 'woman', 'girlfriend', 'wife', and sometimes 'mistress'. For example, you might say: C'est une nana vraiment adorable, tu vas l'adore! – 'she's an adorable girl, you're going to love her!
